A new type of an addiction

A new type an addiction has been popping up across the World. Serbia has recently opened a counseling center for people who have an Internet addiction. People who have an Internet addiction spend upwards of four hours of free time per day on a computer. The reason why Serbia opened this center because as someone would become more addicted to the internet the addicted person would stop talking to people in the real world and in turn would only talk to those in their virtual world. Although many would think that an Internet addiction would be directed towards teenagers who play video games online, but in reality the center has started treating adults between the ages 30 and 50. So if you know someone and no matter what age who spends too much time in the virtual world there is help.

Internet addiction has reach Marietta College. There are plenty of internet addicts who use the internet as a way of escape. They go online to look up websites or play games to avoid the realities of their work load. At this point i don't really think that anything can be done, since you really can't take away the internet from researching students. The addiction will just have to live on.

The internet has grown throughout the years, from general information to email and newspapers to facebook. The internet has become addicting because of the fact that you can do almost everything on it and the fact that colleges and jobs make you use it doesn't help. The most popular internet site that makes internet addicting is Facebook. This is a well known feature that many spend hours on. I know I spend at least 2 hours everyday on the internet wether it is talking to friends on AIM or doing my Blogger for Econ. It's very addicting and there is no way to stop it.

The internet is by far a necessary evil. Without the internet, how would we get research papers done at such a fast pace. I am personally not addicted to the internet. If someone is addicted, I guess the only way to cure the addiction is to get rid of the computer because the internet is not going anywhere. I also don't think that a person addicted to the internet is not hurting society.

Internet is taking away from life itself. Could this be a cause to other harsh factors in America? For example, online banking, ordering services and even food services can all be accessed online. This in turn causes many people to become obese. The internet is only getting worse and it is a harmful tool. It allows you to put up personal profiles that can be accessed by almost anyone. No wonder there are so many missing children and murders, the killers are basically given your home address just by a click of a button. Another factor played into internet is an ongoing amount of rumors spread around college campuses. for example facebook is eating away at the minds of college students. I catch myself being lured into this mess. The interet affects everyone and it will only get worse as technology improves.
