Local Companies Closing

Since I am from the Marietta area, i know a little more about this than many of you probably. However, in the last 6 months, 2 companies (Walker in Williamstown, WV and Marietta Magnetics) have announced closures. Walker let go of close to 400 workers, many of them being my classmates (in high school) parents. Now Marietta Magnetics (a family owned company) is closing costing 125 workers their jobs. For those of you that are not from this area, have these closings been occuring in your hometowns? For those around Marietta, what do you think of these closures?
