Fighting the streets of Iraq... fighting the streets back home.

No matter what your stance is on the current war on terrorism--almost everyone unanimously supports our troops who put their lives on the line for our country. There are currently 150,000 troops in Iraq right now fighting the remnants of Saddam's loyalists while another 16,000 troops are busy searching for Al Qaeda in the mountains of Afghanistan. To date, over 130,000 troops have served in the war since it began in 2001 and have returned home.
However, some of those have returned home to literally nothing. This is partly due to soldiers who are still suffering from the anxieties and horrors of war; but it is also due in part to how high housing costs have become while real wage rates stay the same. It is hard enough to come back from war and just deal with the shock that comes with the reintroduction into our own culture. Some of these soldiers though are also coming back and trying to find their place in a work force they have been out of for well over a year.
I for one get pretty upset when I read things like this, but then again I am a soldier myself so I tend to be very biased. How do some of you feel about this topic? I would like to know how other MC students and also MC employees feel about this. Hope to see some replies.
