Axonyx's Alzheimer's Treatment Falls Short

Axonyx, a US based pharmaceutical company released that a new drug developed will not live up to its expected and promised goals. It seems that rather than slowing the disease down, it only provides an "improvement in memory" however after testing using a Placebo, it seems that this drug does not even slow down Alzheimer's disease... With the average population aging as quickly as it ever has, I feel that if a drug company was to harness a sure proven method to slow the disease down, or provide a possible cure, they will gain a huge market share immediately...
