Wal-Mart revving up for more discounts?

Wal-Mart discounts on limited quantity of holiday exclusives brought on stampedes and fights on Black Friday, which marks the start of the holiday shopping season."We said we will be aggressive this year," Scott McCall, vice president and divisional merchandise manager with Wal-Mart's toy division, said in a recent interview with CNNMoney.com. His interview indicated that Wal-Mart plans to keep on surprising customers with its low prices. "We don't want to tip our hand to our competition," McCall said. "In the last few days we will be equally aggressive or even more aggressive." With Wal-Mart's price drops, other retailers have no choice but the drop their prices as well, leading to an "unprecedented" level of discounts this year. Especially in the week before Christmas, as Wal-Mart hints at dropping their prices even lower. Wal-Mart had good sales in November but everyone else's sales were much lower, even with Black Friday sales. This will make retailers nervous about Wal-Mart's price drops in December, leading to even lower prices.
How low do you think retailer's will be willing to drop their prices in competition with Wal-Mart? Do you think their low prices will take away from Wal-Mart's profits?
