Holiday Travel

It’s that time of the year again and families will soon be hitting the roads again to visit each other and go shopping for gifts and presents. According to one brief post on an AAA survey, “37.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home… 83 percent making those trips by car.” Obliviously with the rising gas prices and a slow rise in market prices, business revenues around the country are expected to rise. Compare the importance of this shopping season to other times of the year. What kind of important contributions does this make to over all business around the country?

I'm not really sure what kind of business impact it would make that is any different from the holiday season other years. Just because gas prices are higher, I don't think that Santa's sleigh is emptier, at least I hope not. (Side note...aren't gas prices once again falling? At least in my hometown..Pittsburgh area..they are) Thus, I'm guessing the impact of this holiday season, is relatively the same as every other year at this time. Anyone disagree?

I do not think that gas prices will have too much of a negative impact on the store's profit this holiday season. Gas prices started falling just in time for the busy shopping season, so I think for the most part the stores will be fine.

I think that gas prices won't have an impact this year. People have to visit their family no matter what, it's that holidays. I don't really think that this year will be anything different from the past years. Thankfully enough gas prices are falling drastically and that is definitly something on their holiday list, so I don't think the stores will suffer this year.

Gas prices will not have an impact. Americans are strong willed and they let very few things get in the way of what they are wanting to accomplish. We have already seen that shopping trends do not seem to be suffering thus far. I can not way until the holidays are over so all this babbling will stop. This has happened every year for the last few years evertime summer or a holiday is approaching.

Its increases business. There is a greater demand for goods this time of the year

I think that the stores won't be hurt by the gas prices whether gas prices keep rising or not. I think that the demand of wanting certain christmas gifts is greater than the want to avoid high gas prices. People want to get certain gifts and spending the gas money on getting to those certain stores is probably not relevent to people. Many people probably don't even consider the gas they are spending

Although many people are spending money in gas to travel to various stores across the county, you have to consider the option of shopping on the internet. Most people will go out to purchase gifts, however, when they do not find what they are looking for, on Monday they turn to the internet to purchase it online as their last resort. Some people can avoid purchasing gasoline in this aspect as well. People enjoy making trips to other malls to shop for Christmas presents and this may outweigh the explicit cost of gasloine in their mind as well.

I don't think that gas prices will have a big impact on the businesses. I think businesses will make a lot of money like they always do this time of the year. Gas prices have slowly, but surely been falling in the last month or so anyways.

I'm not sure that the high gas prices will hurt the holiday seasons high spending or not. I sure hope it doesn't though. If money isn't put back into our economy wages will never rise and that is never good.

I think this is the season that companies have a good opportunity to gain any shortages in the budgets...if they have more advertisement for the holidays, more people who are traveling will be interested and spend their money there.

I think this time of year is good every year. However, it may be more important this year. With the economy weaker than it should be, I think this is just what the economy needs. It needs a little boost to get things going. People benefit both ways. They spend the extra money to get what the want, and usually do for the holidays, and at the same time the economy will benefit from that.
