What drives people to shoot?

On Monday April 16th, a man shot and killed 30 students at a Virginia Tech. The shooting began around 7:00 in morning. Where the man started the shooting was in a dorm building. Then about two hours later, he continues the craze and shot more people in another building. This time it was a class room. I am not sure how many classrooms he shot in. No details have been released nor have the answer to whether or not he shot himself or if police shot him. So, what is it that makes people do this? What is the incentive to killing people? How angry do you have to be to take 30 peoples' lives and injure more? What has become of the human race that we are savages to one another? Well, some people do not think about the consequences of their actions. I guess this guy had his reasons... but that does not justify him going out and taking all those lives.

It's a shame that someone feels the need to take others' lives. Whether it be hatred, animosity, or insecurity, it doesn't make it right.

I don't see how someone could do such a thing! There is NO excuse for taking someone's life, let alone 30 peoples' lives! It is scary to think that something like this could happen. I also can't believe that after two students were shot in a dorm, classes weren't cancelled! Some of this may have been able to be avoided. Although, it is too late to know now.

I was just wondering when anyone has thought humans to be above acts of violence and being savage. In my opinion we are still animals and animals kill other animals all the time. We slaughter tons of animals for food. Does that not make us savage? It's scary really because people think that this is an unthinkable act, but why? Once you make the decision that the penalty of killing other people is something you're willing to take then it doesn't seem that unrealistic. When we talked about stealing a car in class we talked about the cost of it. With a person who is planning on killing themselves there is no cost involved. So killing other people doesn't matter. In this case there were no consequences to think of. Personally I believe he got off scotch free. I don't believe anyone should cause harm to another. However, I eat hamburgers all the time. Call me a hypocrite if you'd like. Oh and whoever the reported was who said that video games had a an influence on what happened should stop and realize that millions of people play video games, and one person who is unstable creates a massacre. Come on, honestly, there is no video game that makes people get a gun and start killing people. Sorry for all who were effected by this tragedy.

This is a great but unnecessary exaple showing how many weirdos are out there. Some people are just lost. They think everyone is out to get them in this world. I believe nothing can be that bad to go kill another person. I just feel sorry for the families of the victims.
