National Listing of Fish Advisories Released for 2004
"States, tribes and territories issued 3,221 fish advisories in 2004, according to data just released by the Environmental Protection Agency. The advisories alert residents to the potential health risks of eating contaminated fish caught locally in lakes, rivers and coastal waters. They do not pertain to commercial fishing."
2004 National Listing of Fish Advisories database also shows that because the increasing of moniting activies in states, the number of safe-eating guidelines issued by states continues to rise rapidly.
there are different kinds of advisories which all concentrated on limiting or avoidding eating certain fish species caught from specific bodies of water. Advisories may be issued for the general population or for such groups as pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children later.
Will the advisories effect the fish market and the trend of supply and demand of the fish market? What do you think ?

i definitly think that the advisories will effect the demand and supply of fish. With the media being obsessed with health issues now a days, consumers are also obsessing over their health. Diets such as adkins and south beach, trends in staying healthy are definitly going to deter people from buying any fish that could be unhealty and cause them harm. With the recent disasters in New Orleans, and the condition of the water and health hazards, i definitly think the fish market will fall.
Of course the market will be affected. The more people that hear about these advisories the less likely people will want to buy fish from local fish areas. But this could result in better things though. Maybe our government will start cleaning up these local rivers, lakes, and costs so that we can eat fish out of them.
