Cleveland Browns to make splash in free agency?
With possible free agent acquisitions such as Defensive End John Abraham and Shaun Alexander, perhaps even Lavar Arrington, the Browns and their 25 million expendable dollars figure to make themselves into a contender via free agency. However, it can be argued that spending loads of money in the free agent market will ultimately kill their bottom line. They have sold out ever game since they came back to Cleveland in 1999, and attendance has nowhere to go but down. This would seem to imply that the Browns owners are more committed to winning than to the bottom line. My question is that do you feel that spending this extra money will affect the bottom line negatively or positively. I maintain that it will positively affect them because of all the playoff compensation that seems iminent.
