Coming Hiring Period In China

China is moving to a new period of hiring period, Frank Mulligan said in his post, “Plans, Hopes, and Dreams”, on March 1.

At the time when Frank Mulligan added this post, Chinese biggest festival, the Spring Festival, and its 7-day holiday were moving out of the way. According to a survey in his post, “nearly 40 percent of respondents say they are planning to land a new job after they return from the holidays,” and most of them had already started their jobs searching. Those people who are seeking new jobs can gain a typical salary increase of about 25%. Facing this salary jump, the people aged between 25 and 35 are more willing to take risks and look for new jobs than those older people, only 2.6 percent of whom plan to change jobs.

In response to this high turnover rate in China, Frank Mulligan mentioned the “subsequent raising of expectation”. Because China is currently in booming and has high rates of growth, the labor demand in China will increase and bring up the average wage. With the same possibility of finding a job, a job seeker can expect a higher wage. In other words, the possibility of finding a job with higher salary will increase. As a result, people aged 25 to 35, who have longer working life, will be encouraged to seek for better paid jobs.
