I'll have a pop...er, a soda....er, a coke...
Here's a neat linguistics map of the words used to describe carbonated soft drinks throughout the United States. I'm definitely a blue stater, but I did spend quite a few years in Texas and became acclimated to the use of "coke" to describe "pop"---though I'll never get used to "soda".

I use to always go with "Pop", nobody had EVER called it anything else. Then I attended U of Dayton last year where all I heard was "Soda" and now thats the only thing that makes sense to me. Coke, however doesnt work, there is only diet and regular. I don't see the term "Coke" as covering all sodas. Its too specific.
